Devising Content that Stands Out from the Crowd

It is not without a sense of urgency that we experience many aspects of our lives. The long and the short of the problem is that with so many demands on our time, it is urgent that we get to the belly of the beast and jot those “X’s” onto our to-do lists. When I think of everything in life that demands our attention, and I am not a parent, nor even really a career man, the no. 1 thing I think of in the twenty-first century is the rush to post content on social media.


Writing content is all about capturing attention. It needs to provoke interest and to continue to do so, at a time when there is constantly all the more competition against which you need to pit yourself. You have what Is really a distinctly finite amount of time available if you are handling the reins of your social media. Therefore it is with some urgency that you need to keep your content coming.

The content you produce is all about establishing yourself as a thought leader in your field. You are, arguably, bringing yourself to market (branding yourself) and that means you need to seem to have a lot of expertise in the matter at hand which you carry out on a daily basis. You need to seem to be the best and brightest of your lot, and that means regularly bringing to the fold what amounts to excellence in social media content. Without a steady series of relevant social media posts, you are not going to seem to be very much of a thought leader at all.

You are almost certainly already on social media if you are interested in blogs on WordPress. It is up to you to handle yours with excellence. I am drawing on the WordPress Daily Prompts for inspiration, and while my blogging work remains merely a hobby, I do want to present a relative amount of truth and dedication to the craft so that I am not merely spinning my wheels.
