The web designer who I freelanced for one afternoon this spring was businesslike. I recommend him. I heard of him on X, where web enthusiasts hang out and can be a better value than those on some of the rival web services.

At least in the case of my web consultant, I realized that where I was in 2019, with a strictly Web 2.0 website for my dad’s Golden Years venture was not performing at all, despite hard work.
The advantage of having a Millenial sister from my successful parents gave my dad the confidence to make some sound decisions, such as involving a Facebook business page, mostly on the cheap, that provided me with what someone my age might call a “backup plan.” The page doesn’t have more than the bare minimum reach, but it is the card I have to play where my “lifeline,” Facebook, is involved.
The speckyboy.com blog post I’m sharing here calls AI, “an elephant in the room.” I think he is in favour of regarding AI images as art. Even here, the new feature of generating an AI excerpt for a post has proved very interesting for me. To tell the truth, paying for an AI assistant is not nearly as good as paying a freelance designer (or copywriter) for work.
Now that Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg again seems at the top of his game owing to his determination to make AI open source, it is a helpful reminder that Facebook is dominant on the web. A month ago I think WhatsApp introduced AI profile photos, which now TikTok is capable of, as well (I think for the speckyboy blog TikTok should be the elephant in the room, not AI).
